The Art of Content Repurposing: Creating More Content with Less Effort

Are you struggling to keep up with the constant demand for fresh content across all your social media channels? It can be exhausting and time-consuming to create original content for each platform. But what if I told you that there’s a way to maximize your content’s reach across channels using less time and resources? Enter the art of content repurposing!

I’m a big advocate of content repurposing, and I use it regularly for my own social media channels and as a sales tool. As a solopreneur who manages my own social media for multiple business entities, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn are my primary platforms, with YouTube being a supporting platform. TikTok and Twitter are not currently platforms that I focus on, although I did share a version on both platforms for the purpose of this post. Ultimately, it’s important for each individual to choose which platforms to prioritize.

Let me give you a few examples of how I’ve repurposed my content to reach a wider audience and increase engagement with my followers.

SHARE REPLAYS OF LIVE VIDEO

I created a live video on my Facebook page specifically as an example for this blog and shared it in multiple ways across several platforms.

Here is a LINK to the original LIVE shot on Facebook Business Page.

Live videos allow me to engage with my audience in real-time, trigger social algorithms and create a unique and interactive experience for them. By repurposing this content, I can reach audiences on several platforms without having to create new content from scratch.

Below is the a link to the LIVE video I made on Facebook saved to my the Micalizzi Media Speaks Youtube Channel. I am sharing the link here as a way to show how you can boost your blogs content and look with an embedded YouTube Link.

TRIPLE DIP WITH ONE PIECE OF CONTENT

Repurposing your content into multiple formats and distributing it across various channels can help you reach a wider audience and increase engagement with your followers.

It is most effective to create a content calendar that includes posts, reels, and stories that tell the same story concept in different ways. By using this strategy, you can repurpose your existing blog & live video content and adapt it for different social media platforms.

To give you a few examples of how this works, I created a posts, reels, and stories, related to this live video which you can check out through the links below:

Remember, everyone has their own preferred way of consuming content. Some people prefer stories, while others love watching reels. By creating content in multiple formats and distributing it across various channels, you can reach a wider audience and engage with your followers in the way they prefer.

DRAW ATTENTION TO HISTORICAL VIDEO

Another example of content repurposing is drawing attention to former videos to add additional value or demonstrate a point you’re making on your blog. You can slice and dice former videos as well, as demonstrated above. This is a great way to show business acumen over time which creates trust.

For additional bonus education, check out my Digital Evolution series playlist on my Micalizzi Media Speaks YouTube channel. This playlist contains a series of videos that dive deeper into the digital world, providing valuable insights and educational content for my audience with my cohost Brandy Lawson owner of Fiery FX. By reintroducig this content, I can attract new viewers and engage my existing audience.

ORGANIZE AS YOU GO

Organization is crucial when it comes to creating and storing videos. After creating a live or recorded video, it is essential to file it in a location that is easy to find. You should label the video based on the concept, making it easy to access in the future.

Additionally, it is wise to cut up the video into shorter versions for use as highlights or reels later. By doing so, you can maximize your video efforts and share them in multiple ways as demonstrated above. If you are busy – sub this work out or delegate it to a team member!
